Daniel Bader – Building and Launching a SaaS Product with Python in 2 Weeks
The story of how I used Python + Django to build and launch a tiny paid SaaS app in two weeks and how you can do the same.
The goal of my talk is to show you how to use the Shopify app store as a test bed for your own Python SaaS apps and to help you avoid the mistakes I made.
We will cover the general logistics of a project like that and how you can leverage your Python skills to either gain experience building and launching software products, or to get exposure for your consulting services.
Intended audience:
* Intermediate (and above) Python developers
* Beginning entrepreneurs
You can read more about the app that I built for this experiment here:
Please note that this talk is *not* an advertisement for the app that I built or the Shopify app store 🙂 I merely use these two to explain my journey and to try and inspire other Python developers to do the same.
This is really good video. It’s very relatable to where I am right now. Thanks for this!
I am not a Django dev, still got a lot of value out of it, thanks for sharing, great content.
This is a great talk, thanks for sharing
A really great talk with a lot of important insights and also some real cool studying recommendations!
Nice video. I’m working on developing my own SaaS software. Thanks for the useful insights!
is it good for beginner ??
Thanks for the information and experience that you shared. Good talk.
great guy, great talk. thank you.
really great talk!
omg an ultrawide video <3
@Avi I don’t think so. Super ultrawide would have a much different appearance and would have a video ratio of two 16:9 side by side, this video barely looks 4:3 side by side.
it’s superwide; I’ve still got blackbars on my ultrawide.
10:23
Super cool attempt ? would help lot of entusiasts.
This video deserves more views.
no such thing as vx or nto, doens tmatter
I am definitely trying that out.
@mark howard I created an app that would send email to customers, once the item restocks. Although this idea is already there, but I just created it to test it out. I learned a lot in the process. However there were some data that was not available to me, and I had to find how the other guy did it, I realized that data came from Theme and not from the API. so what the dev did, is they injected some script in the theme and create an object with stock information.
@Muhammad Faizan what did you end up doing? Did you build some stuff?
@Mohammed Benoumechiara what do you want me to explain? I dont know arabic 🙁
Its a shame though
Can i have more explanation in Arabic from you ?
The guy had good intentions. Unfortunately he should have explained how he built his product from scratch. I was interested in knowing about that.
Great talk!
Is that a 21″ macbook pro?
Looooool
wrr, n osuch thing as carex or fearx, cepux, say any nmw and any s perfx
i thought he is going to show how his app works
This was like a promotion for his plugin, website and book…
Cool way of building products in Django. Didn’t know you can do it
